Work abroad
An internship abroad provides students with the opportunity to get to know the language and culture of a country and to gain valuable practical experiences. There are several approaches to organize and finance an internship abroad.
Please also note the information on the linguistic and general preparation on the site "Study abroad".
Further information on internships abroad - hints on finding an internship, links to placement agencies, country information and much more - is available on the websites of the DAAD.
Students may also use the services provided by the Career Development at TH Lübeck for the international labor market:
- Individual counseling on study, job and career related issues
- CV and cover letter checks
- Workshops on key skills, job application training, and life/ career planning.
- Infothek surrounding job search, occupational fields and job opportunities
- Access to a company search database
- Internship in Europa
TH Lübeck students and recent graduates can carry out an Erasmus+ internship in an enterprise, a research institute, a laboratory, an organisation or any other relevant workplace abroad. Students gain international working experience combined with social skills like communication in different languages, teamwork in diverse environments, cultural knowledge and interaction skills.
Internships have to be self-organized and take place in one of the program countries. A list of previous funded internships is available in the Lernraum. Students can apply for an Erasmus+ individual grant support at the International Office. Project work for the final thesis can also be considered as an internship and be funded in the Erasmus+ program.
As part of the Erasmus+ internship, students can take a free Online-Languagecourse (OLS) in the working or national language.
Internship providing agencies should be evaluated carefully and students should reseaerch the applicable costs. Get in touch with your professors to inquire about possible contacts to companies abroad.
