The International Studies Business Administration and Engineering program (Internationales Studium Wirtschaftsingenieurwesen – ISW) is part of the successful exchange between Technische Hochschule Lübeck (THL) and Milwaukee School of Engineering (MSOE) in Wisconson, USA, for many years.
The ambition is to obtain both degrees from THL and the MSOE. The successful participants receive the
- German Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Industrial Engineering from THL and
- American Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in International Business from MSOE.
The B.Sc. enables the students to acquire their master’s or PhD degree.
In the first four semesters, you participate in the regular Business Administration and Engineering program. Both these years solely include mandatory events such as lectures, exercises and projects, which are standardized for all students of the program Business Administration and Engineering.
At the beginning of the third semester, you decide after an information event, if you want to switch to the international studies. Prerequisites for the acceptance to the ISW-Program are i.a. appropriate grades, a convincing personality and improvable school English. If all of that applies, you should apply directly after the information event. Provided that you will be accepted, you will already study with American students from Milwaukee at THL during the fifth and sixth semester. The language of education will be mainly English.
Joining their fellow American students during the seventh and eighth semester at Milwaukee School of Engineering in Wisconsin, USA, you continue your international experience. During the eighth semester, you will accomplish the internship semester and write your bachelor thesis. Afterwards you receive the German Bachelor of Science from THL and the Bachelor of Science from MSOE.
Both internationally acknowledged degrees provide you a significant competitive advantage for your applications in the European and Anglo-American language area.
