• Objectives and teaching contents

The study objective is the knowledge transfer from basic to specialized expertise in the classical field of civil engineering. This allows graduated students to work at companies, local authorities, or engineering offices. Teaching contents include recommendations of the federal state’s (Schleswig-Holstein) chamber of engineers, of the national accreditation group (AS-Bau), and of the national civil engineering group.

The bachelor study program civil engineering has a duration of 3 semesters with 90 credit points (ECTS).

The Civil Engineering's Master Program is structured into two semesters with two basic modules and three specialization module each. Next to general basics (e.g. Higher Mathematics and Statistics), specialized knowledge in basic engineering modules will be given (e.g. Geotechnical Engineering). Students must chose on of three available specializations, namely Structural Engineering, Water, Infrastructure and Environment or Construction Management. Here, specialized and applied engineering knowledge will be transferred to allow a prospective work area on a scientific basis.

The third semester is used to learn about basic scientific research procedures and to prepare the  Master Thesis (13 weeks).
