Welcoming culture at the university
4 – 8 May 2026

We are looking forward to meeting you at our second edition of the TH Lübeck Erasmus+ Staff Training Week 2026 with the topic: Welcoming culture at the university. This staff week aims to facilitate the exchange of experiences, to share good practices and to develop new ideas. Main target groups are staff members from HR departments and International Relations Offices.

Participation is free of charge, however participants are expected to cover the costs for travel and accommodation, preferably through Erasmus+ funding for staff training.

This staff week is organized as an Erasmus+ blended intensive programme together with West Pomeranian University of Technology, Stettin, Poland, and EIGSI La Rochelle Engineering School, France, and a virtual kick off session is planned during 22-24 April 2026 (date to be confirmed).

Leisure Time in Lübeck

We recommend you visit the Lübeck Tourism website to find out more about Lübeck and the surrounding area. The Ultimo magazine (in German) lists all events taking place in Lübeck.

Route map

To calculate your route, use the OpenStreetMap service included here.

Arrival by train and bus

There are regular train connections between Hamburg main station and Lübeck. From Lübeck Hbf (or coming from the direction of Rostock) you can take a regional train to the next stop Lübeck-St. Jürgen (journey time 6 min), from there it is a 10-15 minutes’ walk to the campus of the TH Lübeck .

Alternatively, you can take the bus from the main station, which runs directly to the TH. Bus lines 1 and 9 (stop Technische Hochschule, destination Dorothea Erxleben Str./Grillenweg) and lines 8 and 30 (stop Stephensonstraße) will take you to the TH.

For further information, please visit www.swhl.de/en/mobil/ or www.bahn.de.

Arrival by plane

Although the city of Lübeck has its own airport, it offers only very few connections. In particular, there are no inter-German connections.

When taking the plane, we recommend to arrive at Hamburg Airport. From there take the S-Bahn (line S1) to Hamburg main station and then take the train (see: by train and bus). For the journey from Hamburg Airport to Technische Hochschule Lübeck you should allow about 2 hours. Unfortunately, a bus transfer between Hamburg airport and Lübeck is not available.

Traveling by car

Lübeck can be reached from the west and the south via the A1 motorway and from the East via the A20 motorway. The TH Lübeck campus is only accessible via the Mönkhofer Weg. An access to the so-called "Hochschulstadtteil" is not possible because of barriers used for traffic calming. Guest parking is available but we recommend the use of public transportation.

ONLINE APPLICATION

Deadline for applications is 15 February 2026.

TH Lübeck Staff Training Week will accept maximum 20 participants and will prioritize applications by ensuring a wide spread of area of interests and regions.

Please do not make any travel arrangements before we will have confirmed your participation.
