Horst Hellbrück: Cybersicherheit und KI
Im Rahmen des Transfer-Projektes EDIH.SH bieten wir u.a. Workshops und Vorträge zur Anwendung von KI im Themenfeld Cybersecurity an. Dieser Vortrag bietet einen tiefgehenden Einblick in die aktuelle Bedrohungslage und die Potenziale, die KI für die IT-Sicherheit birgt. Der Vortrag erläutert praxisnah, wie Unternehmen sich effektiv gegen Cyberangriffe schützen und gleichzeitig von den neuesten KI-Technologien profitieren können. Der Vortrag behandelt die wichtigsten Aspekte der Cybersicherheit und zeigt auf, wie Künstliche Intelligenz sowohl zur Abwehr von Bedrohungen als auch zur Optimierung von Sicherheitsprozessen eingesetzt werden kann. Was dürfen die Teilnehmer erwarten? Eine fundierte Einführung in die Thematik, praxisorientierte Tipps und Strategien zur Verbesserung der IT-Sicherheit sowie konkrete Beispiele für den Einsatz von KI im Bereich Cybersecurity.  Die Teilnehmer erhalten wertvolles Wissen und Handlungsempfehlungen, um ihre Unternehmenssicherheit zu stärken und die Vorteile von KI-Technologien zu nutzen.

Sven Ole Schmidt: Real-Time Bluetooth Low Energy Angle-of-Arrival Localization with Gauss-Newton
In recent years, Bluetooth localization has gained popularity and is deployed in various applications, especially due to the power effectiveness of Bluetooth Low Energy. This paper presents a novel Bluetooth localization system based on angle-of-arrival measurements. The complete system design and implementation details are provided, demonstrating successful deployment on commercial off-the-shelf hardware. To achieve this, we designed and implemented the Gauss-Newton algorithm for position estimation, a robust method for solving non-linear least squares problems, which we adapt for real-time AoA-based positioning. Signal processing techniques are employed to process AoA measurements, while optimization methods ensure accurate localization despite the challenges posed by noisy real-world environments. To evaluate the system’s localization performance, we developed and applied the algorithms to a large public dataset with more than 1.4 million angle-of-arrival measurements. Our results demonstrate the accuracy of the system with varying numbers of locators. With four locators we achieve a maximum error of 1m for 50% of position estimations and 1.6m for 80% in the aforementioned public dataset. The live system results in a real-time localization with a position update rate of 10 estimates per second. We provide the source code and documentation of the software for download, enabling other researchers and practitioners to replicate our findings with the public data set and enable them to build their own systems on-premise in a short time period.
