Presentation of a demo of the JOLanDA platform at the Mensch und Computer 2022

At this year's Mensch und Computer conference (September 4-7, 2022) in Darmstadt, we presented the newly developed career orientation platform JOLanDA for the first time. On this platform, young people can go on a journey of discovery in a playful way and travel to six different expeditions, each following different paths of discovery. The JOLanDA project is funded by the BMBF.

The platform is intended to support young people, especially those from rural regions, in orientation processes and career choices. Young people from rural regions are often under a double burden. They have to make a career choice and also decide whether to leave their home region for the job.

On the evening of September 5, a poster and demo session was held at the Technical University of Darmstadt in parallel to the conference dinner. Our demo with a novel interaction concept could be tried out on two tablets and gave an insight into the jungle world to be discovered, through which one can scroll. Metaphorically, this points to the partially opaque many possibilities of career orientation. By working through the integrated learning content (whiteboard animations, quizzes, etc.), you can become a "guide to your life path" on the platform and find out where your strengths lie and what makes you happy.

We were happy to be part of Mensch und Computer 2022 - we enjoyed the conference days and the many inspiring conversations.

Details as well as a video of the platform can be found in the demo paper:
