The University Board is the governing body of the university. It oversees quality assurance in teaching, research, technology transfer, academic continuing education, gender mainstreaming, decision-making and administrative processes, as well as the university's organizational structure.
The President represents the university and presides over the University Board. Her position includes a variety of responsibilities, including the strategic management of the university.

The Vice President for Studies and Digitalization (VPSD) oversees all matters related to studies and teaching. In other words, the entire process from application to enrollment, teaching in the departments all the way to graduation. This process, in particular, is subject to digital change, whose implementation therefore also falls within the responsibilities of the VPSD.
The Vice President for Research and International Affairs is directly responsible for the strategic development of research/technology transfer and the internationalization of the university.
The Vice President for Innovation and Regional Cooperation is in charge of the BMBF project "Innovative Hochschule Hansebelt Innovationsmatrix Lübeck", the necessary networking within the region and oversees the transfer projects of the university.
The Chancellor serves as head of the university administration and manages financial, personnel and legal matters.
