Civil Engineering is a classical study program with various professional fields of application. Civil engineers design and calculate supporting structures, engineering structures, roadways and railways, water supply systems, flood protection measures, and a lot more. Traffic junctions, as well wastewater treatment plants, harbors, fish steps and energy supply systems are designed and planned by them. Therefore, mathematical, technical and communicative knowledge is necessary.

For the civil engineering study program a pre-study internship is necessary (8 weeks). (zuständig ist die Fachbereichsbeauftragte für Angelegenheiten des Vorpraktikums). Additionally, a professional training/internship of 12 weeks is scheduled within the 7th semester. (zuständig ist der Beauftragte für Praktikumsangelegenheiten des Studiengangs Bauingenieurwesen).
