Einschreibung
The documents to submit for registration differ depending on whether it is a bachelor or a master program or if the university entrance qualification has been acquired abroad. For details, please refer to the following checklists.
The "Studienstarthilfe" is a one-time, earmarked grant from the state of Schleswig-Holstein for prospective students from low-income families to finance special expenses such as registration fees, semester fees and study-specific purchases. This is intended to make it easier for students to start their studies in Schleswig-Holstein.
You must submit the application before the start of your studies, i.e. after admission and before enrollment. As proof of admission, enclose a copy of the admission notice with the application (for Bachelor's degree programs without admission: a copy of the control overview from the application portal).

If you register personally, please note that all documents have to be submitted in original form.
If you register by mail, you have to send some documents as legally certified copies instead of originals.. Detailed informations here.(Please refer to your admission letter to find out whether you have to enroll in person or by mail!)
- approval notice
- valid identity card or passport or registration of residence (“Meldebestätigung”) in original form or as legally certified copy
- passport photo (necessary for student identity card; please label back with your name and pay attention to an appropriate quality),
- university entrance qualification (e.g. Abitur or Fachhochschulreife – if applicable school-based part and certificate for accreditation of practical part)
- proof of payment of semester fee
- proof of payment of registration fee for first registration at THL
- latest insurance certificate from your health insurance for registration at an university (instructions)
- if applicable certificate of de-registration from your previously attended university
- if applicable graduation certificate of your apprenticeship (only if necessary for your study program)
- gif applicable latest clearance certificate from your previously attended university (only if you already studied the same study program at a different university)
- only applicable for Business Administration and Engineering Online: signed master data sheet and die privacy statement
- (if you are a minor, the completed general consent of the legal guardian(s))
You are or have been registered at THL?
In this case it is sufficient to send an E-Mail to studieninfo(at)fh-luebeck.de to accept the university place. If you already have been removed from the register of students, please submit a proof of payment of semester fee and the latest insurance certificate from your health insurance (also gladly via E-Mail).

- bachelor graduation certificate in original form or as legally certified copy or confirmation of graduation from examination office with date and average grade (at least 2,5 or 2,7 for Civil Engineering)

- latest insurance certificate from your health insurance for registration at an university (instructions)
- if applicable certificate of de-registration from your previously attended university
- if applicable latest clearance certificate from your previously attended university (only if you already studied the same study program at a different university)
You have not finished your studies yet?
For an admission-restricted registration, you have to prove your university degree until 30th September (start of winter semester) or 31st March (start of summer semester). Applicants who finished their studies but did not receive a certificate yet, need to submit at least an official confirmation from their university including degree and final grade. Otherwise, the registration is not possible.
You are or have been registered at THL?
In this case it is sufficient to send an E-Mail to studieninfo(at)fh-luebeck.de to accept the university place. If you already have been removed from the register of students, please submit a proof of payment of semester fee (all details at point no.5) and the latest insurance certificate from your health insurance (also gladly via E-Mail).
