Background
In a changing world of work characterized by flexibility and personal responsibility, conventional approaches to workplace health and competence promotion are losing importance. Flexible and individualized working conditions have to be partly shaped by the employees themselves, for which they need corresponding competencies.
Objective
In the EngAGE project, self-employed persons and employees with individualized work activities are to acquire and sustainably implement competencies for effective and health-promoting work design with the help of an online intervention, so that they remain healthy and productive over the lifespan as knowledgeable co-designers of their working conditions. The aim is to sensitize this group of people to health-related risks and to promote the use of condition- and person-related resources through innovative interventions.
Approach
Together with the company partners, a health and competence management for such employees is developed and tested. A health insurance company, self-employed representatives and trade unions, among others, are available as exploitation partners in order to implement the developed instruments on a broad scale and to continue them after the end of the project, which is ensured by a hosting and marketing concept.
The Technical University of Lübeck contributes with its existing competences in the field of e-learning, online-based competence development as well as multimedia production and will ensure the technical implementation and provision of the online modules. Furthermore, starting from research in the field of networks and computer-based cooperation, the TH Lübeck covers the field of social resources and motivation.
